Welcome to Prevail Academy
History of Prevail
Prevail Academy opened in 2004 as a K-5 school. Each year the school has grown by adding a grade level and now has over 600 students in grades K-8. Much of the growth is due to the fact that parent satisfaction is very high and student achievement is evident across all grade levels.
The staff and parents have consistently established strong partnerships between the home and the school. The commitment to student success in the academic and moral focus curriculum is exceptional. The pride of Prevail has been the dedication of students, staff and parents towards a common goal of achievement and success.
Keys to Prevail Success
Prevail prides itself on the strength of its staff and on the commitment of its parents and teachers to challenge and meet the needs of each student. Each quarter Prevail students are recognized during an assembly for their academic and social achievements. Our Panther of the Month award is given to one student in each homeroom that demonstrates academic and social behaviors that are consistent with our monthly virtue.
Each morning an assembly is held to reinforce our virtue of the month. Staff members and parents lead assemblies and model for students those character building behaviors that are so important to a well rounded education.
Prevail offers a strong core curriculum that emphasizes reading, math, science and social studies. Students receive ninety minutes of language arts and math instruction each day in addition to one of five co-curricular classes that include; Spanish, media, technology, physical education and art. Band and choir are also offered as options for our 5th through 8th grade students.
Our middle school students have multiple opportunities to get involved in activities that enhance their educational experience. Numerous after school clubs, National Junior Honor Society, AAA Safety Patrol and athletics are just some of the opportunities that our students have.
Parent involvement continues to be strong at Prevail. It is common to see parents attending assemblies, volunteering in classrooms, organizing and leading after school clubs, organizing special events, participating in our Music or Athletic Boosters and participating in our PTO. Prevail has been recognized by National Heritage Academies for its numerous years of strong parent satisfaction and involvement with several awards.
The staff at Prevail is proud of what they are accomplishing as a back to basics, morally focused, parent involved system of education. We invite you to explore our web page further, to call us if you have other questions and to visit our campus.
